Family Photos - CJ is an Artist!

For CJ’s second birthday her parents Mark and Michelle wanted something similar to the fun cake smash we did for her first birthday, but different.  We came up with the idea of letting her go wild with (totally non-toxic, kid friendly, practically edible, super washable) paints.

We started with some portraits and family shots in her fancy, non-painting dress.

And then we set her up with some paints and brushes on an entirely paintable little set.

It didn’t take long for her to start painting herself as well as the canvases, which lead to adorableness and hilarity.  One of the things I was most impressed with throughout the shoot was how focused she was.  This little girl was making some ART and she was putting a lot of thought and effort into it.

Very excited about having painted hands

She noticed that her foot was unpainted, which obviously needed to be fixed

the moment of “was it a good idea to paint my whole arm?”

Feeling pretty positive about painting both arms

With the easel it looks like she’s hosting a Bob Ross-esque show for toddlers

Full art monster status achieved

This is a style of shoot I’d love to try again sometime.  It was a lot of fun and really brought out CJ’s personality.   Also, the paints (which I believe were Crayola washable paints) washed completely out of her dress and Mark and Michelle loved the images,  success!
